Bug Club for schools

Schools are encouraged to become associate members of the Bug Club. This gives teachers all the benefits and support of the Bug Club to help with their teaching.

The information within the Bug Club Magazine is often of specific relevance to key stages 1 and 2 of the national curriculum and, in particular, any modules focusing on minibeasts.

Benefits of institutional membership of the Bug Club by schools include:

Six colourful and information-packed Bug Club Magazines a year. We also encourage your students to submit articles to the Bug Club Magazine and they are eligible for our Gardiner Award. The Bug Club Magazine also includes puzzles, crosswords, quizzes and colouring activities that can be used in class. Examples of some of these activities can be found in the Fun and Games section.
Teachers at member institutions are eligible to join our Members' Forum and can use this forum to contact expert entomologists who will be able to answer any questions or queries you may have about invertebrates.
During the course of your teaching you may do a minibeast hunt. We can offer advice on the best guides to use to identify any creatures you or your students find and you can also use our identification service.
You can apply for funding from The Michael Majerus Grant to help support nature conservation work at your school.
